Web Werks, Iron Mountain launches data centre in Hyderabad

Data centre hosting service provider, Web Werks and Iron Mountain Data Centers (IMDC) on Wednesday announced the launch of its first data centre (HYD-1) on its campus in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Data centre hosting service provider, Web Werks and Iron Mountain Data Centers (IMDC) on Wednesday announced the launch of its first data centre (HYD-1) on its campus in Hyderabad. Located in Kondapur, HYD-1 is a tier III-designed data centre that can support up to 5.5MW of IT load within a 1.2 lakh sft facility. Under the joint venture (JV) between both the companies, data centres were recently launched with MUM-2 in Navi Mumbai and BLR-1 in Bengaluru, while the JV will continue to expand its existing centres in Mumbai, Pune and Noida markets.

Nikhil Rathi, Founder and CEO, Web Werks, said: “The Telangana government is building new IT hubs in five districts of the state. Hyderabad is a major technology hub, and is fast becoming an important data center market in India. The JV is excited to offer customers easy cloud and carrier access, driven by hyperscale demand for an improved connectivity-rich ecosystem in this city.”

Rathi further said that the HYD-1 data centre, which is now live 12 months after the acquisition of a standalone commercial facility, strengthens the JV’s presence within the southern region of India.
